Fishing trip

Friday evening rather than go to the gym we took the hight road and went fishing. Of course! I mean come on what other choice did we have? Went to doctors pass beach access walked the beach to the levy in a windy 20 knots plus winds blowing the waves to 2ft pushing foam across the beach like small tumbleweeds. Jetty rocks were rough made of shells & fossils and somewhat porous. On our first attempt across the jetty to the channel near the mouth to the gulf, it was just too windy and all we caught was sargasso weed because the wind kept the line on the surface despite the sinkers. Further up the beach near the apartments was a passage and a couple of benches protected from the wind where we could fish successfully. Rigged up the 2 $10 dollar Zebco rod & reals with frozen shrimp and brought in 4 catfish seems they were the only ones interested in frozen shrimp. One of the jetty rocks the size of an upturned lazy boy chair would rock back and forth when you stepped on it, providing a little extra thrill. As dark came and I was headed to the bucket on the bench to deposit the last catfish with a fishing pole in one hand catfish in the other I did a nose plant into the next large rock ahead of me, seems I can’t walk on air with either hand or foot. Glasses saved my face leaving a dent in my cheek putting a Gough right up the middle of them. Not to good to look out of. I got a goose egg on my right shin, scrap scrapped my left palm and put a serious dent in my pride. I reached into my pocket for my phone/ wallet to use as a light and it was gone &%^#%$^&& and ()((^%$#@ all for a few fish! Looked here looked there reached in this hole and that no phone. Where are all the nuisance calls? unwanted notifications when you need them? After a few more special adjectives I remembered Maria had borrowed my phone and left it in the car. Hallelujah! Well the fish tasted good and most of my body still works so all in all not to bad a fishing trip. Life is good and sometimes tasty.
